Vivekanand College of Nursing organized a Model Exhibition on 5th October 2024. The event started by 10 am with the introduction of models displayed on the ground floor of college building. Students and faculty members were formally welcomed. The Model Exhibition was evaluated by Mrs.Susan konda, Associate professor SUM Nursing college and who addressed the students and encouraged all the participants for such model exhibition. A model exhibition was conducted for the intra–class level in B.Sc.(N) 6th semester students. They prepared various model. All the models were prepared very well. The students were motivated with their own creativity. Assessment of the exhibition was also done by respected dignitaries who all surveyed the exhibition and sought an explanation about the details of all the different models from students who made models. Other students of different semesters of the college who visited the exhibition enjoyed the event very much. At the end, Prof.R.Ratheesh kumar, Principal of Vivekanand College of Nursing, gave a brief motivational speech and admired the student’s efforts and interest. The vote of thanks to all the participants in invitees was proposed by Child health nursing department.

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecological department and child health nursing department , Vivekanand College of Nursing, Bhubaneswar observed World Breastfeeding week 2024 with the theme "Closing the Gap: Breast Feeding support to all" The goal of the event was to raise awareness about importance of breast feeding and support for women to breastfeed anytime, anywhere.This session was followed by a guest lecture by an eminent speaker Dr. Soumya Ranjan Mohanty, Consultant, IGKC Multi-speciality Hospital , Bhubaneswar who delivered informative and thought-provoking lecture on the importance of breast feeding and breastfeeding support to all. Participants had the opportunity to interact with the speaker, ask questions, and gain valuable insights.

Students showcased their talents through a variety of performances, including patriotic songs, dances, and skits that depicted the struggles and sacrifices made for the nation’s independence. Speeches by student leaders emphasized the importance of unity, diversity, and responsibility in nation-building. The celebration also featured an art exhibition, showcasing works inspired by India’s rich heritage and culture. Overall, the day was marked by a profound sense of community and dedication, inspiring everyone to reflect on their role in shaping a better future for the country.
World Heart Day at SCB Medical was a vibrant and educational event organized by students, aimed at raising awareness about cardiovascular health. The celebration featured a variety of activities, including health check-up camps, where attendees received free blood pressure and cholesterol screenings. Students conducted interactive workshops that focused on heart-healthy habits, such as nutrition, exercise, and stress management. The Rabies Day celebration organized by Vivekanand College at Capital hospital was a significant event focused on promoting awareness about rabies and its prevention. Students and faculty collaborated with medical professionals to host a series of informative sessions, highlighting the importance of vaccination and responsible pet ownership. The event included engaging activities such as interactive workshops and presentations that educated attendees about the symptoms and transmission of rabies. Attendees were encouraged to participate in discussions about community initiatives aimed at controlling the disease. This day was observed at the college premises. The principal hosted the flag. Following the cultural programme was organised with a patriotic song and group dance and finally the programme ended with prize distribution.
WORLD AIDS DAY is observed annually on December 1. This year's theme for world AIDS day is "EQUALIZE". This is a chance for people all over the world to come together in the battle against HIV, to support those who are living with HIV, and to remember those who have passed away from an AIDS- related illness. Our Teachers & Students organized "Rally" to create awareness on address the inequalities which are holding back in ending AIDS.

NATIONAL NEWBORN WEEK is celebrated every year in our Nation from 15 to 21st November. The aim of celebrating the week is to raise awareness about the newborn care.In this year we celebrated National New Born Care Week on 21/11/2022 at our college premises and the Theme is HOME CARE OF NEWBORN IN URBAN AREA. This programme was organized by the Child Health Department and conducted various competitions. We have Invited Dr. Bigneswear Senapati, MD paediatrics from SUM and IMS hospitals, Bhubaneswar as a chief guest. He gave a wonderful presentation based on this year theme.
Diabetes has emerged as a major problem in the world in Todays lifestyle. There are many Diabetes patients in the Indian Youth population and this number is increasing continuously. World Diabetes Day is celebrated Every year on 14 November to raise the awareness about diabetes.
